M6 and M7 open clusters


The open clusters M6 (top) and M7 (bottom). Taken at the observing session of the Iowa City Astronomy Club at Sokum Ridge Park, IA on July 10, 2010. Piggyback (on Meade 2120 mounted on equatorial motor drive) using my new old Canon 300D (converted to accept Minolta Rokkor lenses). Minolta MD 135mm f3.5 Rokkor lens (effective focal length 216mm on 35mm camera). 30s exposure time, ISO 1600. The bright star at the lower right corner is Gamma Scorpii.
