Milky Way at Sokum Ridge Park, IA - Lagoon Nebula

This is the Milky Way as seen at the observation site of the Iowa City Astronomy Club, the Sokum Ridge Park. Taken at the observing session on July 10, 2010. Piggyback (on Meade 2120 mounted on equatorial motor drive) using my new old Canon 300D (converted to accept Minolta Rokkor lenses). Minolta MD 50mm f1.4 Rokkor lens (effective focal length 80mm on 35mm camera). 30s exposure time, ISO 1600. This is the portion of the Milky Way around the Lagoon and Trifid nebulae. A cloud moves in from the lower left corner of the image.
