There was a very nice clear sky, my wife had to work late and, therefore, this was the perfect time for some astroimaging on our deck in Iowa City. I mounted the Canon 300D piggyback on the Meade 2120 (mounted on equatorial motor drive) and attached a 135mm/f2.8 Minolta MC lens (that I just got off eBay) to the camera. I targeted the telescope towards the Dumbbell Nebula (M27) and took 15 images (ISO 1600, 14x30s, 1x85s, f/2.8, 135mm = 216 on 35mm camera). The Dumbbell Nebula is a relatively small DSO. Thus, I am happy with this image. Taken on 09-11-2010.
