Taurus

Taurus

This image was taken using my Panasonic DMC-TZ1 "point and shoot" camera in "Starry Night" mode. It is a stack of 6 images at f/2.8, 5mm focal length (35mm on 35 mm camera), ISO 80, each 60s exposure time (6 min total exposure). The camera was mounted piggy back on my small Meade Polaris 60 EQ telescope. The mount of the scope has a small RA motor drive attached to it that helped a little bit to avoid star trails (which are not a major issue at this low focal lengt). It is amazing what you can see with just a "point and shoot" camera. Taken on November 15, 2010.
