Great Orion Nebula

Great Orion Nebula

On a very cold winter evening (January 8, 2011) I took this image of the Orion Nebula at Kent Park near Tiffin, IA. This image was taken piggy back with my Canon 300D and Minolta Rokkor MC f2.8/135mm mounted on a small 4.5" reflector mounted on an Astrozap EQ mount (equivalent to Meade LDX75 mount). The mount was driven by a motor drive in RA declination. The image is a stack of 24 images, each 30s exposure time, ISO 1600. The image has much more detail than the image of the Orion Nebula taken with the point and shoot Panasonic DMC-TZ1.
