The venus tranist on June 5 is coming soon. So I started preparing myself for this event by constructing solar filters. I ordered a Din-A4 sheet of Baader AstroSolar Safety Film and constructed solar filters for my Celestron Nexstar 102 SLT, the Meade ETX-80, and the Meade Polaris 60mm refractor telescopes. This image is through the Celestron Nexstar 102 SLT using the Canon 300D. One single shot, ISA 400, 1/4000 s exposure time. Slightly edited using Nebulosity Ver. 2. Taken on Sunday, May 27, 2012. The sun spots are nicely lined up.
