I purchased a used Celestron Nexstar 102 SLT optical tube assembly (FL=660mm, Aperture 102mm, f/6.5) and mounted it on my Astrozap mount. This OTA has a thread that allows to connect SLR cameras via a simple T-Mount. So I connected my Canon Rebel XT (350D) and took a couple of images. Here is an image of the Dumbbell Nebula (M27). This image is a stack of 30 images taken on two different days for a total exposure time of 27 min and 30 sec. Processed using DeepSkyStacker and post-processed in Nebulosity. I think this is the best image of the Dumbbell Nebula that I ever took. Taken on November 15 and 17, 2011.
