I purchased a used Celestron Nexstar 102 SLT optical tube assembly (FL=660mm, Aperture 102mm, f/6.5) and mounted it on my Astrozap mount. This OTA has a thread that allows to connect SLR cameras via a simple T-Mount. So I connected my Canon Rebel XT (350D) and took a couple of images. Here is the globular cluster M71 (=NGC 6838) in Sagitta. This is a small cluster, 12,000 light years away and of magnitude 6.1. This image is a stack of 20 images (30s each) for a total exposure time of 10 min. Processed using the Iris Software and post-processed in Nebulosity. Taken on November 15, 2011.
